A recent post I put up on my media page drew in some great feedback from friends and supporters of my shares. Sometimes we don’t realize how much we have accomplished until someone asks, “WHAT’S UP?”
When I took this picture I was actually feeling down about how my program hasn’t been focused or consistent because of other commitments. However, after giving it much thought I concluded that perhaps the frequency and application I am using RIGHT NOW is a good fit for my lifestyle, stress and priorities at this moment in my life.
I have in the past OVER COMMITTED to my training when I needed to focus on my work or family life. Other times, when I was worrying in the ‘slow season’ about not having enough work and opportunities lined up, perhaps that was when I needed to be focused back on my health performance, reading, and creative projects TO PREPARE for what’s coming next. Not to mention, physical activity can also offer a therapeutic prescription for mental and emotional anxiety about the unknown future.
So, what is going on in your life right now? Is there room for complex, focused and intense programming? Is there a call for it? OR is this moment in time, more about restoration, introspection and gathering your power for what comes next?
The difference between Domestic Athletes and Professional Athletes, is this is a LIFE LONG practice for us! The pros have timelines, hard dates and HIGH STAKES!
We don’t set a deadline, unless we need one. In the meantime, focus on DA Principle #1 & #2, “Show up” & “Support HEALTH First”. Build and maintain a base and foundation so you are fit to DEPLOY when the time comes for greatness to be expressed.
